Televisions have become disposable.

A modern television is engineered to be replaced, not repaired.

The panel is bonded to the frame, the frame to the boards. One cheap fault — a power supply, a worn port — and the whole object is discarded. Tens of millions a year. Almost none opened first.

The enclosure becomes permanent architecture.

The chassis survives decades — a fixed, quiet object. Everything with a shorter life is a module inside it. A better processor is a new module; a new port standard, a new card. The object in the room never changes.

Grade-5 titanium. Machined to last.

Titanium is not chosen for prestige. It is chosen because it does not move, does not corrode, and does not need to be replaced.

04Replaceable Display

Only the panel is replaced.

The OLED panel is the one part with a known, finite life. So it is the one part designed to come out first.

  1. 01Release the rear service panel — four fasteners, no adhesive.
  2. 02Disconnect the single display ribbon.
  3. 03Lift the panel from its mounting rails.
  4. 04Seat the new panel; the chassis and every other module stay in place.

When a panel dims, everything else remains. You replace a component, not a television.

09The Remote

A remote built to the same rules.

One piece of machined titanium. A backlit keyboard. A trackpad. A battery and electronics you can replace.

Held horizontally, it is a backlit keyboard with a thumb trackpad. It charges over USB-C. Like the television, it opens — battery and electronics replaceable — built to last as long as the screen it controls.

The OLED panel is sourced; we do not claim to make screens. Relic engineers what determines how long the object lasts — the titanium enclosure, the thermal system, the modular electronics, the repair architecture. The one thing the industry refuses to build: a product made to be kept.
